The BaoDown continues with Little Bao’s Chef May Chow and Salisterra’s Chef Cary Docherty.
For one night only, the city’s foodies can indulge in the most refined guilty pleasures.
Little Bao Soho proudly presents the latest installment of its acclaimed BaoDown series, where esteemed Chef Cary Doherty joins forces with Chef May Chow to create a contemporary refined twist on the “happy meal.” This innovative tasting menu merges a passion for fast food, street food, chefs’ culture, and culinary philosophies, all embodied in the bao burger, shareable plates, and beverages in a playful and delicious way. The BaoDown series has previously showcased Michelin-worthy bao creations by legendary chefs Richard Ekkebus (Amber), Manav Tuli (Chaat), and Shun Sato (Censu). Tickets for these events have consistently sold out immediately upon launch.
On June 1, 2023, attendees of the BaoDown will experience a gastronomic extravaganza at Little Bao Soho’s kitchen. Chef Cary, who has honed his skills working alongside culinary greats like Jason Atherton, Gordon Ramsay, and Clare Smyth, will join Chef May Chow in crafting a menu that showcases their culinary talents in the most fun and delightful way. Featured dishes include Chicken Nugget Bao, Duck Fat Fries, Salted Egg Yolk Caesar salad, Kuruma prawn cocktail, and a caramel Sundae surprise.
Wine expert Ambrose Chiang, formerly the director of wine and beverage at Momofuku and recipient of the World’s Most Original Wine List award by The World of Fine Wine in 2018, will curate an exclusive wine list and wine pairing for the evening.
The six-course meal will be served as a shared menu set for two guests at a price of $1360. Each ticket covers one (1) menu set and is valid for two (2) guests, with an optional wine pairing available for an additional $450 per person for 3 glasses of wine. Only one guest’s details are required when purchasing a ticket. Guests are encouraged to arrive promptly, as each dining session is restricted to one and a half hours. Due to the set menu format, special dietary requests cannot be accommodated.
